VPI Pet Insurance
Why choose VPI pet insurance? Well, while the cost of Veterinary services increases, it’s important to consider the benefit of pet health insurance. We recommend this VPI Insurance Company because they offer affordable policies and their claims process is simple. Veterinary pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular. So the great debate is...to get insurance, or not? I asked myself this question, as I do with many other decisions I’ve had to make…”Would I rather be safe, or sorry?” For me, it was a simple decision.
I first got VPI insurance in 1999 when I adopted my dog (Bear). I was impressed with their level of customer service and with how quickly they processed my first claim. 5 Reasons Why I Chose VPI:- I could take my dog to any licensed Vet, anywhere
- The claim process was fast & easy!
- They cover thousands of medical problems
- Their benefit schedule is publicly available making it easy to calculate your reimbursement
- You can cancel at any time, hassle-free
Get a Quote OnlineIt’s easy. Just provide your zip code and some basic info about your pet. You don’t even have to enter your email address! Here’s what my quote looked like for my (almost) 2 year old Weimaraner: | Base Coverage | Cost Per Month | Cost Per Year | | Superior Plan | $23.50 | $282.00 | | Standard Plan | $13.50 | $162.00 | Optional Add-Ons | Additional Cost Per Month | Additional Cost Per Year | | WellCare Premier | $22.00 | $264.00 | | WellCare Core | $12.00 | $144.00 | | Plus a $2.00 Monthly Processing Fee |

What Plan Should I Choose? There is no doubt that insurance policies can be a confusing. So, regardless of which company or plan you choose, it’s important that you do your homework. You might want to start by considering what health concerns your pet might be facing in the future. For example: I was advised by my Vet that my Weimaraner might develop some knee trouble as he ages. So, I’d want a plan that would cover costly knee surgery.
Routine & Preventative Health CareAnother thing to consider is coverage for non-emergency type treatments…routine care and preventative health care. VPI Pet Insurance offers a rider (or add-on) which gives you additional reimbursement for things like Vaccinations, Flea and/or Heartworm Prevention, Dental Cleaning, and much more.
ExclusionsRegardless of which plan you choose, pay close attention to the “What’s Not Covered” section of your policy. Unfortunately VPI Pet Insurance does not cover some conditions which are common in the Weimaraner breed, such as hip dysplasia and von Willebrand’s disease.
